Yearly
and Well-Women Exams
Medifem Health offers immediate appointment availability for well-women
exams, and routine gynecologic examinations and treatments of
gynecologic disorders. Dr. Glazer is certified by the North American
Menopause Society as a Menopausal Practitioner.
Birth Control
We offer all methods of birth control including birth
control pills, the IUD, diaphragm fitting and instruction, the
NUVA ring (vaginal contraceptive ring), EVRA patch (the contraceptive
patch) and Depo-Provera (long acting contraceptive shot). We also
offer testing for sexually transmitted diseases and their treatment,
and counseling of safe-sex practices.
Ultrasound
Medifem Health offers Gynecologic ultrasound using state
of the art equipment and methods for diagnosis of various pelvic
disorders. We are proud to be certified for gynecologic ultrasounds
by the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
Bone Density (DEXA) Scanning
Medifem Health offers bone density evaluations to assess
patients for osteoporosis or osteopenia. We also offer consultation
for management and treatment of these bone disorders. This test
is usually covered by your insurance and can be done at the time
of your yearly exam.
Vertebral
Fracture Assessment
A very simple test to evaluate the spine by performing an x-ray
of the spine to check for spinal fractures. If present, this could
explain back pain, bent-over stature or “shrinking”
of height. This test is usually obtained at the same time as a
DEXA scan.
Both Dr. Glazer and Ms. Schaeffer are certified by the ISCD (International
Society for Clinical Densitometry).
Essure
Sterilization
Dr. Glazer is the first doctor in the state of Kentucky to perform
the Essure sterilization technique in which a metal spring containing
a filament is inserted into the fallopian tube, which over a three-month
period of time causes closure of the tube thus preventing future
pregnancy. Please call for an appointment to see if Essure sterilization
is appropriate for you.
Labial
Reduction
Some women have discomfort due to the lips of the vagina being
too long or thick. This can interfere with sexual relations or
cause discomfort with wearing clothes. Dr. Glazer has performed
Labial Reduction on numerous patients with good results. Please
call for an appointment to see if Labial Reduction is appropriate
for you.
Laser Hair Removal
Medifem Health offers in office laser hair removal for
unwanted hair on the face, chest, abdomen, legs, arms and underarms,
and bikini area. Ours rates are the lowest in town and we have
over five years experience with the LightSheer Diode Laser. We
offer free consultation and have special financial packages available
and also offer gift certificates.
